In the 1960s, agricultural development of the soil near Swifterbant unearthed pottery. It turned out to belong to people who had lived in what is now Flevoland six thousand years ago. These Swifterbant people lived off hunting, fishing and gathering. What is remarkable is that they dabbled in agriculture. In the PREHISTORIC! exhibition, visitors will find out how these Swifterbant people lived, which crops they cultivated, what they ate, which tools they used to hunt and their rites involving death.
