You keep things running and our visitors feel it.
At Museum Batavialand, history comes alive. You step aboard the Batavia, experience historic crafts at the shipyard and discover the impressive story of Flevoland. That experience doesn’t happen by itself; it’s created by a team that makes sure everything runs smoothly every day. That team needs you.
Within the Audience & Presentation department, we are looking for a Floor Manager. As a floor manager, you will be that person who picked up the paper from the floor before a visitor saw it, who knows how to keep a team moving, and who is not satisfied until every visitor walks out with a smile.
What will you do?
On your workday, the museum revolves around you. You supervise public employees and volunteers, monitor the quality of the visitor experience and keep a cool head when things go differently than planned. You will open and close the museum, be team leader of FAFS and jump in when necessary. No two days are the same.
- Direct and motivate public employees and volunteers
- Monitor hospitality, cleanliness and safety on the floor
- Participate in events, activities and special programs
- Switching in case of complaints and emergencies: calm, quick and solution-oriented
Who are you?
You don’t have to be a museum expert, just someone who is energized by people, who is approachable, and who understands that a warm welcome makes all the difference.
- You have experience managing a team; you know how to get people moving
- You are hospitable, flexible and always willing to go the extra mile
- Weekend work? No problem, that’s just when it’s bustling
- You have FAFS and shift supervisor certification, or are willing to obtain it
What do you get?
A varied job in a unique cultural environment, surrounded by enthusiastic colleagues who are as driven as you are. And furthermore:
- Salary in accordance with Museum CLA scale 5 + vacation allowance (8%) and end-of-year bonus (3.4%) and good fringe benefits.
- One-year contract (employment) with the possibility of renewal.
- A workplace among shipwrecks, archaeological finds and an active shipyard
- Enthusiastic colleagues who are as driven as you are
- A position where you really make a difference for thousands of visitors a year
