Become a volunteer at Museum Batavialand

Museum Batavialand brings history to life with extraordinary stories, from prehistory and reclamation to the Zuiderzee and the new Flevoland. At our authentic shipyard, you’ll see craftsmanship in action in the reconstruction of the 17th-century VOC ship the Batavia. Inside the museum you will find fascinating exhibitions, the water theater, craft workshops such as the restoration workshop, and the ArcheoHotspot – the place where the past comes to life and stories come together.

Together we make history

Our volunteers are indispensable. Whether you receive visitors, are a guide, or help in the forge or weaving shop, your efforts make a difference. Everyone is welcome to get acquainted and together we will see what role suits you.

What can you expect from us?
