ArcheoHotspot

What lies hidden beneath our feet?

In the ArcheoHotspot, you can find out for yourself. Get a glimpse into the work of archaeologists and see how finds are examined and recovered. Children can puzzle shards, study flint, look at samples under a microscope and watch videos. Bring your finds to our free archaeological consultation hour, too, and learn what they reveal about the past.

Discover Flevoland’s past

Step into the world of archaeology

In the ArcheoHotspot of Museum Batavialand, the past is brought to life. Look over the shoulders of archaeologists and volunteers from AWN Flevoland, who work to investigate finds. Children can get to work themselves and learn how archaeologists discover and preserve ancient treasures.

Why the ArcheoHotspot?

Flevoland’s soil harbors stories of thousands of years. Traces of prehistoric communities, shipwrecks and more await discovery. Thanks to our ArcheoHotspot, young and old alike are introduced to this fascinating history.
