On May 5, 2026, we will celebrate together that we live in freedom. In Museum Batavialand you are welcome at a free Freedom Lunch. A special moment to think about freedom and to meet each other. Combine your visit with a day full of stories in the exhibition rooms, the Batavia and at the shipyard.
During lunch we bring people together at the table. Using discussion cards of the National Committee May 4 and 5, beautiful conversations arise about what freedom means to you. You can also join a lecture about Flevoland during World War II. Discover how this area, then still largely water, still played an important role.
You will enjoy Janny van der Heijden’s Freedom Soup: a special white soup as a symbol of peace and connection. Eating together, sharing stories and meeting new people are central. We have room for 100 people, so sign up on time and celebrate 81 years of freedom with us.
This activity was made possible in part by the V Fund.
