Provincial Archaeological Depot Flevoland

The Flevoland Provincial Archaeological Depot manages and preserves all archaeological soil finds made during archaeological investigations in the province. Flevoland Province is the owner of the finds.

Many finds were discovered during the reclamation of Flevoland. The objects range from prehistoric tools to objects from the New Age and World War II. Through human activity, these items ended up in the ground. This has created a unique collection, which continues to grow through archaeological research in Flevoland.

Deposit finds archaeological research

The Provincial Archaeological Depot Flevoland (PADF) preserves archaeological finds and associated documentation from excavations in Flevoland.

Digital excavation documentation is delivered through the ArcheoDepot portal: Depot Management System – DBS Public Search Service

Research and loan

The depot is open to scholars, students and cultural institutions by appointment. Researchers can study the collection, while museums and other institutions can receive objects on loan. In this way, these finds are not only preserved but also shared with the public.

Digitally, part of the collection is accessible via collectienederland.nl

The collections of the Museum Depot, the Provincial Archaeological Depot Flevoland and the National Ship Archaeological Depot of Museum Batavialand are managed separately from each other. Requests for loans and other requests should be addressed to the custodian of the relevant collection.
