Op zaterdag 25 én zondag 26 oktober verandert Museum Batavialand in een levendige scène uit de 17e eeuw. Stap aan boord van de Batavia, het grootste 17e-eeuwse reconstructieschip van Europa, en ontmoet de bemanning: zeelieden, timmerlieden en bewapende soldaten bevolken het dek en brengen het schip opnieuw tot leven. Ook zullen de kanonnen luiden! Stap jij ook 400 jaar terug de tijd in?
How did they survive the months-long journey to the East? What was on the menu? And how did sailors enjoy themselves on the high seas? The crew will give live demonstrations in period clothing and answer all your questions. Find out who the “bus shooters” were and what their duties on board were. Through the combination of stories, demonstrations and smells and sounds of the ship, you literally step into history.
