As a guide, you will be part of the public reception team at Museum Batavialand. The day team handles the entire public reception, from selling tickets and products to providing information to visitors. This takes place at various locations, such as in the museum, at the shipyard, on the jetty and on the ship Batavia. All-round public volunteers and guides change places throughout the day, so your day is always varied and you work with different people.
Volunteer speaking: That group only had half an hour, but they were so interested that they walked around here for an hour and a half.
Role and department
We would like to strengthen our team with volunteers who enjoy taking visitors into stories in an interactive way. You know better than anyone to adapt your story to the target group and the circumstances. Sometimes you stimulate visitors with a short story of 10 minutes, other times there is time for an extensive tour and everything in between. Knowledge about the history of Flevoland, shipbuilding and/or the seventeenth century is a plus, but not necessary. We provide the basic information and help you make the stories your own.
