Watercraft construction volunteer

We are looking for hands-on people with a passion for craftsmanship and culture who would love to work together on the traditional reconstruction of a 16th-century water vessel.

Department and Role

We’re looking for volunteers who are skilled with their hands and who would really enjoy working in our unique environment. Most of the work takes place outdoors. There is a wide variety of tasks: marking out wood, fitting wood pieces, all kinds of woodworking, and making molds. All of this is for both small and large construction projects. We use power tools, stationary machines (planer/thicknesser), and hand tools such as chisels, etc.

What do we expect from you?

  • Knowledge and experience with woodworking tasks. If you don’t have experience in this area but are handy, you’re still welcome to apply.
  • You’ll be available at least one day a week; you’re also willing to work occasionally on weekends in the near future.
  • You’re in good physical condition and work well as part of a team.
