Werkbedrijf Lelystad

Museum Batavialand’s shipbuilding projects are for many a successful stopover and stepping stone to a paid job, education or their own business. “Straight to work” is what we stand for. Under the guidance of learning masters, participants gain job satisfaction and experience and often see new opportunities in their lives. Working together with people who are passionate about their profession is contagious! Museum Batavialand proves that this approach works and thus makes a valuable contribution to society.

Training Foundation

The training foundation of Museum Batavialand is hosted by Leerbedrijf Lelystad. In addition to reintegration programs, Leerbedrijf Lelystad also runs the Social Employment Service in Flevoland. Together with them, people are placed at Batavialand and coached on their way to the labor market. And with success: six months (up to a year) of working on work rhythm, social manners and personal learning goals provides a new perspective for many. After all, working on yourself in a unique workplace that you can be proud of brings about a lot.

Who are our participants and what do we have to offer them?

The construction crew of Museum Batavialand consists of a number of permanent employees and a large group of volunteers. These people are eager to pass on their expertise to participants to work as a team on the Batavia.

The target audience consists of:

  • Re-entry
  • Disabled workers (who want to work with their hands)
  • Adolescents (with behavioral problems, personal barriers, exploratory)
  • WWB workers enrolled in Apprenticeship Lelystad
